Employee Spotlight: Stephanie Bohen

Stephanie Bohen is the epitome of a hard-working, dedicated employee. As corporate accounting manager at APEX Group, Stephanie helps ensure the company’s accounting and financial operations run smoothly. We recently asked her to share some thoughts about her job, her hobbies and her interests so we could get to know her a little better.

1. How long have you been with APEX Group, and what drew you here?

It’ll be five years on Nov. 13, 2022. [Vice President of Finance] Candice Rowe actually brought me here. We had worked together previously, and when a position opened up here, she gave me a call. I loved working with her the first time, so of course I came!

2. What do you like most about your job?

The people and the environment. We have a great group here at APEX Group, and I think we have a lot of fun as well. It makes coming to work every day enjoyable.

3. What would you be doing for a career if you weren’t doing this?

It could go two ways. I would either be a stay-at-home mom, or I would still be doing accounting somewhere else. I’ve always been in this field, and I don’t really know or want to do anything else.

4. Where did you grow up?

I was born and raised in Southern California, 30 minutes from the beach and an hour from the mountains. I was the middle child with an older sister and a younger brother.

5. How do you spend your time off?

I spend my time off with my amazing husband and my two wonderful girls. No matter what we do, it’s always an adventure.

6. Are you currently binge-watching any shows, and if so, which ones?

I LOVE binge-watching true crime. My whole family gets into it. I find it fascinating: learning about the forensics, putting the pieces of the puzzle together to figure out who did it, and seeing what actually drives people to commit the crimes they do. It’s just so interesting.

7. What is your favorite vacation spot?

Oh, the beach for sure! It’s my happy place! The smell of salty air and the sound of crashing waves—is there any place better? I don’t think so.

8. If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you would do?

I would go on a traveling adventure and see as many historical and famous landmarks all over the world as I could.

9. What is your greatest fear?

Losing my family because life wouldn’t be worth living without them. They are my world, and everything I do is for them!

10. What one piece of advice would you give your younger self?

Don’t stress over the little things. Be yourself, and don’t worry about trying to please everyone. Take care of yourself first. Enjoy life—don’t just live it!
