Celebrating a Successful Mid-Year Conference

Corporate Floors hosted its 2015 Mid-Year Team Conference last week at the Great Hall in Grapevine, Texas.  The largest conference to date, more than 60 team members met over a three days for training and business planning.

The event started with lunch and a bike build to benefit Together We Rise, a leading nonprofit for foster care innovation. More than 30 bikes were built and donated to Pathways, a local foster care center in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Our Mid-Year Conference also included a financial review, which highlighted yet another year of sustained, positive growth attributed to the efforts of the entire team across all of our locations. The conference closed with a networking and happy hour event with our sponsors and team.

Honoring Our Award Winners

“I am extremely proud to recognize the team members who received awards at the conference. These distinctions are determined by a team survey, and each member should be congratulated for the recognition by their peers,” Corporate Floors CEO Thomas Holland stated.

The following Corporate Floors team members were recognized:

Ultimate Fighter Award: Mark Krotzer
The “Ultimate Fighter” (also know as the David Douthit Award) epitomizes the employee who has fought through personal challenges over the past year without sacrificing their commitment to the company and maintaining their responsibilities to peers and our customers.

Mark has faced incredible challenges this year with the loss of family members, the loss of his home in a recent flooding and most recently the loss of his truck in a freak accident. They say bad times comes in threes, so hopefully he’s looking forward to a bright future! All through this time, Mark never complained and remarkably kept a “customer first” attitude. We truly appreciate his sacrifices during the tough times he’s experienced.

Helping Hand Award: Juan de la Rosa
The Helping Hand Award is given to the team member who defines teamwork and is always ready to help no matter how big or small the task – and they do it with a smile.

Juan Delarosa wears more hats than the Pope, and he always pitches in and helps with anything from maintenance repairs, recycling pickup or an installation inventory pick. We appreciate his “get it done” attitude!

Firefighter Award: Ashley Adams
The Firefighter Award is given to the team member who often jumps into the fray and does their best to avert disaster or help recover from a problem, whether it’s their job to or not. This person has stepped up to the plate multiple times to help her team no matter the reason, and she does this with a polite smile and is always the consummate professional.

Ashley Adams works in the challenging role of supporting Doug and the warehouse team – and if anyone needs to have a helmet and firehose, it someone who helps Doug! She is currently working 120 miles away from her family while they are transitioning to DFW, and she’s always at the office with a smile, a great attitude and for those who keep her from doing her job…an ax

Robinson Crusoe Award: Deborah Rutherford
“Robinson Crusoe” is awarded to the team member in a remote office who gets the job done with limited resources and exhibits ingenuity, service and hard work.

Deborah Rutherford works in our San Antonio office and wears multiple hats: project manager, office administrator, showroom manager, salesperson and warehouse manager – all while helping her team deliver the highest service possible.

Service Excellence Award: April Pearce
The Service Excellence Award is given to the person who best defines “customer service,” whether working with internal or external clients.

This team member works on the accounting team and has recently stepped up her role. She is always cheerful and takes on any project given with a positive attitude. April Pearce is a real asset to the team!

A Big Thanks to Our Sponsors!

Our Mid-Year Conference would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors who participated in the meeting.  A portion of the sponsorship funds was also donated to Together We Rise.
